1. The workshop was called to order by President, Lowanda Washington, 6:08 P.M.
2. Roll Call: Ms. Lowanda Washington, Mr. Roger Nutt, Mrs. Byrleen Terry, Mr. Terry Douglas, Mr. David Lawson, and Mr. Danny Vickers.
Absent: Sonja Washington

Budget Workshop - Superintendent Hopkins presented the board with information on the proposed 2004-05 budget and tax rate. Questions were asked by the Board members.

Adjourned - President Washington adjourned the meeting at 6:40 P.M.

CALL TO ORDER
1. The meeting was called to order by President, Lowanda Washington, at 7:03 p.m.
2. Invocation was given by Roger Nutt.
3. Pledge of Allegiance to the American Flag and Texas Flag was led by Roger Nutt.
4. Roll Call: Ms. Lowanda Washington, Mr. Roger Nutt, Mrs. Byrleen Terry, Mr. Terry Douglas, Mr. David Lawson, Mr. Danny Vickers and Ms. Sonja Washington.
5. Public comments/audience participation - None

Bill(s) to The Chicken Place - Motion by Mr. Roger Nutt, seconded by Mr. David Lawson, to approve the bills to The Chicken Place. Voting for: Mr. Roger Nutt, Mr. David Lawson, Mr.Terry Douglas, Ms. Sonja Washington, Mrs. Byrleen Terry and Ms. Lowanda Washington Mr. Danny Vickers abstained from voting. The motion passed.

Oath of Office - Notary of Public, Tom Simpson, administered the Oath of Office to incumbents, Mr. Terry Douglas and Mr. Roger Nutt.

Election of Officers - Superintendent Hopkins called for nominations for President. Motion by Mr. Danny Vickers, seconded by Mr. Roger Nutt, to nominate Lowanda Washington as President. No other nominations were made and the motion carried unanimously.

Motion by Mr. Terry Douglas, seconded by Ms. Sonja Washington, to nominate Mr. Roger Nutt as Vice-President. No other nominations were made and the motion carried unanimously.

Motion by Mr. Danny Vickers, seconded by Mr. Terry Douglas, to nominate Mrs. Byrleen Terry as Secretary. No other nominations were made and the motion carried unanimously.

Consent Agenda - Motion by Mrs. Byrleen Terry, seconded by Ms. Sonja Washington to approve
the consent agenda as presented. The motion carried unanimously. Consent agenda items: minutes of the May 18, 2004 (7:00 p.m.), and May 24, 2004 (5:00 p.m.) regular meeting , special called meeting and monthly financial report.

Budget Amendments - Motion by Mrs. Byrleen Terry, seconded by Mr. David Lawson, to approve the budget amendments as presented. The motion carried unanimously. (a copy of the amendments is attached to the minutes)

Tax Resale Deed #30,762-T - Motion by Mr. Roger Nutt, seconded by Mr. David Lawson, to accept bid of
$1,500 from Curtis Evans for 9.35 acres, more or less, out of the Martinez Survey, Abstract 37, being more particularly described in Volume 237, Page 237, Deed Records of Falls County, Texas. The motion carried unanimously.

Approve changes To policy DEC (LOCAL)- Motion by Mr. Danny Vickers, seconded by Mr. David Lawson, to approvechanges to policy DEC (LOCAL). The motion carried unanimously.

Publish for Proposals for Student/Athletic Insurance - Motion by Mr. Danny Vickers, seconded by Mr. Roger Nutt, to authorize to publish for proposals for student/athletic insurance. The motion carried
unanimously.

Bids for Instructional Supplies for 2004-05 - Motion by Mr. Danny Vickers, seconded by Mrs. Byrleen Terry, to accept all bids for instructional supplies for 2004-05 school year. The motion carried
unanimously.

Set date & time for budget workshop - Motion by Mr. Rogers Nutt, seconded by Sonja Washington, to approve June 22nd, 2004 at 6:00 p.m. for budget workshop. The motion carried unanimously.

Set Date & Time For Public Hearing on Proposed 2004-05 Budget And Proposed Tax Rate -Motion by Mr. Danny Vickers, seconded by Mr. Terry Douglas, to approve June 29th, 2004 at 6:00 p.m. for public hearing on proposed 2004-05 budget andproposed tax rate. The motion carried unanimously.

Discussion Item TASB Revised Teacher Contracts - No Action taken.

Superintendent's Report - Superintendent Hopkins handed out a letter from TEA stating that Michelle
Willhelm, was released as Intervention Team Specialist from our District. We also received Michelle Willhelm's final report.

Superintendent Hopkins handed out information on TAKS Scores. Discussion followed.

Jo Ann Garrison, Assistant Superintendent for School Improvement, presented
information on TAKS Scores and briefed the board on its contents.

Bill Almond, High School Principal, handed information to the board on the
TAKS Scores and briefed them also on its contents.

Closed Session - The Board went into Closed Session at 7:56 p.m.

The Board came out of Closed Session and reconvened to Open Session at 9:15 p.m.

Personally Identifiable Information about Public School Student - No Action taken.

Personnel Employment 2004-05 - Motion by Mrs. Byrleen Terry, seconded by Mr. Terry Douglas, to employ
Jack Zirkle, VAC teacher, Becky Arndt, Integrated Physics & Chemistry, Debra Tittle, Diagnostician, Karen Thomas, Supervisor, Special Education, Paul Coufa Diagnostician, and Stacy Ackley Math/Administrative Intern. The motion carried unanimously.

Personnel Resignations - Motion by Mr. Danny Vickers, seconded by Mr. Roger Nutt, to accept resignations from Ramon Carrillo, Robert Bardin, Sara Mechell, Debi Tindle, Casey Wallace, Scott Holloway, Melanie Bost, Leslee Falco, Kelly Holland, Sherry J. Carriere, Teresa Bohannon, Karen Kollmer and Crystal Whitten. The motion carried unanimously.
