SPECIAL CALLED MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
MARLIN INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT
Administration Building - 5:30 p.m.

July 26, 2005

CALL TO ORDER
1. The meeting was called to order by President, Lowanda Washington, at 5:31 p.m.
2. Invocation was given by Roger Nutt.
3. Pledge of Allegiance to the American Flag and Texas Flag was led by Roger Nutt.
4. Roll call: Ms. Lowanda Washington, Mr. Roger Nutt, Mr. Terry Douglas, Mr. David Lawson, Mr. Danny Vickers and Ms. Sonja Washington.
Absent: Mr. Gary Gray

Resolution- MISD to use Tri-County Water at Athletic Complex - Motion by Mr. Roger Nutt, seconded by Mr. Terry Douglas, to approve Resolution for Marlin ISD to use Tri-County Water at the Athletic Complex. The motion carried unanimously.

Closed Session - At 5:38 p.m. President Washington announced the Board will go into Closed Session
under Section 551.074.

The Board came out of Closed Session and reconvened to Open Session at 6:15 p.m.

Personnel Employment - Motion by Mr. Roger Nutt, seconded by Ms. Sonja Washington, to employ the following
for the 2005-06 school year: Magan Harvey-lst grade teacher; Helen Ford-5th grade teacher; Rachael D'Angelo-7th grade Science; Gilsie Wiese-7th grade math; Murry Franklin-8th grade math/coach; Carolyn Appelt-high school librarian. The motion carried unanimously.

Personnel Resignation - Motion by Ms. Sonja Washington, seconded by Mr. Terry Douglas, to accept the
resignation from Vicki Bachtel. The motion carried unanimously.

Interview(s) of Potential Candidate(s) for Interim Superintendent - There were no interviews.

Appointment of Interim Superintendent - Motion by Mr. Danny Vickers, seconded by Mr. David Lawson, to appoint Dr. Eli Casey as Interim Superintendent under the terms outlined in the letter to Dr. Casey dated July
27, 2005 with the exception to add $250.00 a month for in-district travel. The motioncarried unanimously.

Adjourned - President Washington adjourned the meeting at 6:17 p.m.
