WORKSHOP OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
MARLIN INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT

November 7, 2006

CALL TO ORDER
1. The workshop was called to order by President, Lowanda Washington at 5:32 p.m.
2. Roll call: Mr. Roger Nutt, Mr. Danny Vickers, Mr. Terry Douglas, Ms. Lowanda Washington, Mr. David Lawson and Mr. Steve Johnson. Ms. Sonja Washington arrived at 5:35 p.m.

Change date Of November Meeting - Motion was made by Danny Vickers, seconded by Steve Johnson to
change the date of the November Trustee Meeting from November 21, 2006 to November 14, 2006. The motion carried unanimously.

Team Building & Self-Assessment - Mrs. Rita Gibbs, TASB Senior Consultant presented and directed a
Board and Superintendent Team Building and Self-Assessment workshop. Handouts were given to the Board. Ms. Gibbs used visuals to guide the Board in the discussion of session objectives, session guidelines, shared visions, district accomplishments, critical issues and district goals. The Board members discussed issues individually and as teams. Goal development from identified critical issues was discussed, as well as individuals who would be responsible for implementing and working to accomplish district goals. Mrs. Gibbs discussed continuing education topics for the Board. The Board acknowledged they had recently completed two sessions of financial continuing education presented by Kim Margoitta, Business Manger. Mrs. Gibbs closed by asking the Board to reflect individually on the workshop presentation and discussions.

Adjourned - President, Lowanda Washington adjourned the meeting at 9:16 p.m.
