MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES

MARLIN INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT

Special Called Meeting  February 5, 2009

Marlin ISD Boardroom  4:00 p.m.

 Call to Order - Board President, Lowanda Sias called the meeting to order at 4:05 p.m.

 Roll Call - Roger Nutt, Danny Vickers, Tania Baker, Lowanda Sias, David Lawson, Steve Johnson. Sonja Washington was absent. A quorum established for the meeting; 

 Closed Session (Personnel Matters) - Board President, Lowanda Sias announced at 4:06 p.m. that the board would go into closed session to discuss personnel matters under Texas Govt. Code 551.146. The board reconvened into open session at 8:22 p.m.

Action Resulting From Closed Session Discussion Of AD/Head Coach - Ray Matthews, Superintendent recommended to the board that the District hire Malcom Keith Willis as Athletic Director/Head Coach for Marlin ISD with a contract beginning March 1, 2009 through June 30, 2010. Motion was made by Steve Johnson seconded by David Lawson to hire Malcom Keith Willis as Athletic Director/Head Coach with a contract beginning March 1, 2009 through June 30, 2010. Six trustees voted in favor of the motion, one against. Motion carried. Following the vote, Trustee, Roger Nutt expressed his appreciation for the diligence of each member of the Athletic Director/Head Coach Screening Committee.

 Adjournment  - Board President, Lowanda Sias adjourned the meeting at 8:23 p.m.
