NOTICE OF WORKSHOP

Marlin ISD Trustees

Marlin Middle School Cafeteria 5:30 p.m.

April 20, 2010

Call to Order - Board President, Lowanda Sias called the meeting to order at 5:33 p.m.

Roll Call - Roger Nutt, Lisa Silvas, Tania Baker, Lowanda Sias, Steve Johnson. Trustee, Sonja Washington arrived at 5:35 p.m. Trustee, David Lawson was absent. A quorum was established for the meeting.

Discuss 2010- 2011 Budget - Business Manager, Kim Margoitta and Superintendent, Ray Matthews opened the discussion by reviewing handouts of the budget from the previous year and estimated revenue and expenditures for 2010-2011. Sources of the estimated revenue for 2010-11 were discussed, as well as decreases in revenue due to the drop in District enrollment. Mr. Matthews informed the trustees of staff cuts on each campus in the areas of teachers and a teacher assistant position. Maintenance Director, Vince Margoitta also informed the trustees of fire alarm repairs and annual system inspection requirements for the elementary and middle school campuses. Funds for these repairs would come from the Archer County revenue. A list of proposed projects for the current year and projects for the future were given to the trustees for review. The next workshop for budget discussion would be held in May.

Adjournment - Board President, Lowanda Sias adjourned the meeting at 6:04 p.m.
