NOTICE OF EMERGENCY MEETING

MARLIN I.S.D. BOARD OF TRUSTEES

February 6, 2011

Marlin Middle School Library 3:00 p.m.

Call to Order - Board President, Lowanda Sias called the meeting to order at 3:01 p.m.

Roll Call - Roger Nutt, Lisa Silvas, Tania Baker, Sonja Washington, Lowanda Sias, Steve Johnson. Trustee, David Kenny was absent. A quorum was established for the meeting.

Ratify Action Already Taken to Address Burst Pipes at the Elementary and Middle School Campuses - Interim Superintendent, Marsha Ridlehuber addressed the Board by summarizing the action that was taken Saturday, February 5, 2011 to address the pipes that froze and burst at the elementary and middle school so that classes could resume Monday, February 7, 2011. She reported on the areas that had water damage in both buildings. Mrs. Ridlehuber informed the board that due to a lack of a quorum for a Saturday meeting, she contacted the District insurance agency and attorney to use the purchases and acquisition limit of $50,000.00 to start the clean up process in both buildings. Specialty Restoration was called on Saturday to begin their specialization process to clear the water out of both buildings. Following questions and comments from the Board, she asked that the Board ratify the action taken February 5, 2011. Motion made by Steve Johnson, seconded by Roger Nutt to ratify all action taken to address the burst pipes at the elementary and middle school campuses. Motion carried unanimously.

Authorize Administration To Take Any and All Action Necessary to Address the Burst Pipes at the Elementary and Middle School Campuses - Motion made by Steve Johnson, seconded by Lisa Silvas to authorize the administration to take any and all further action necessary to address the burst pipes at the elementary and middle school campuses per Board Policy CH (LEGAL) Purchasing and Acquisition Disaster Exception. Motion carried unanimously.

Adjournment - Board President, Lowanda Sias adjourned the meeting at 3:11 p.m.
