SPECIAL CALLED MEETING OF THE
BOARD OF TRUSTEES
MARLIN INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT

February 1, 2011

Call to Order - Board President, Lowanda Sias called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

Roll Call - Roger Nutt, Lisa Silvas, Tania Baker, Sonja Washington, Lowanda Sias, David Kenny and Steve Johnson. A quorum was established for the meeting.

Personnel Matters - Board President, Lowanda Sias announced at 6:01 p.m. that the board would go into closed session under Texas government Code 551.146. The board reconvened into open session at 7:23 p.m.

Resignation of Superintendent - Motion made by Steve Johnson to accept the resignation of Dr. Eli Casey with such resignation to become effective at 5:00 p.m. Friday, February 4, 2011 subject to any possible provisions in his contract that would prevent termination on that date. Motion seconded by Tania Baker. Motion carried unanimously.

Consider Appointment of Interim - Motion made by Roger Nutt to extend a contact to Marsha Ridlehauber and authorize Board President, Lowanda Sias to negotiate the contract. Motion seconded by Sonja Washington. Motion carried unanimously.

Adjournment - Board President, Lowanda Sias adjourned the meeting at 7:25 p.m.
