ACTION REPORT

Special Called School Board Meeting - March 3, 1998

Insurance Proposals for Property and Casualty, Auto and Employee Benefits - Three proposals were received -TASB; Brazos Ins; and Key & Piskuran. A representative from TASB and Brazos Ins. were present and briefed the Board on their individual proposal and answered questions asked by the Board members. Superintendent Thornell then compared the three proposals item by item with the Board. Motion by Mr. Arthur Douglas, seconded by Mrs. Billie Jones, to accept the proposal from Brazos Insurance for Property & Casualty, Auto and Employee Benefits Insurance. The motion carried unanimously.

Preliminary Drawings of Elementary School and Addition - The Board agreed to have a workshop with the architects on Tuesday, March 10 at 7:00 p.m.

Results of Closed Session:

Settlement Proposal in Barbara Smith vs. MISD; Civil Action No. W97CA291 - Motion by Mr. Arthur Douglas, seconded by Ms. rose Sedillo, to approve settlement as recommended in the proposal. The motion carried unanimously. Mr. Oscar Trevino, Attorney at Law with Walsh, Anderson, Brown, Schulze & Aldridge Law Firm, was present at the meeting to present the proposal to the Board.
