Regular School Board Meeting - December 15, 1998

All Board members present except Mrs. Billie Jones and Ms. Elaine Truett

Agenda Items:

Textbook Committee - Motion by Mr. Arthur Douglas, seconded by Ms. Rosie Sedillo, to approve the Textbook Committee as presented. The motion carried unanimously. The following staff members will serve as the District's textbook committee: Stan Allen, Robert Bardin, Katherine Bolanos, Tracy Brook, Jill Brzozoski, Gabriel Cary, Jo Ann Garrison, Sharon Giles, Letha Hopkins, Shirley King, Angetta Lynn, Shirley Smith, Andra Sparks, Stacy Trojacek and Sue Willert.

Update 59 - Motion by Mr. Arthur Douglas, seconded by Ms. Lowanda Washington, that the Board adopt Legal and Local policies as recommended by TASB Policy Service and according to the Instructions sheet for TASB Localized Policy Manual Update 59 and that Policy CRE states the District's choice is to "offset" the employee's paid leave against workers' compensation wage benefits. The motion carried unanimously.

Technology Training for Teachers - Motion by Ms. Rose Sedillo, seconded by Mr. Arthur Douglas, to approve the technology training for teachers. The motion carried unanimously.

Closed Session Results:

*No action was taken on employment of an accounting firm

* Motion by Ms. Lowanda Washington, seconded by Mr. Arthur Douglas, to employ Dustin Bates as middle school teacher/coach. The motion carried unanimously.
