Special Called School Board Meeting - January 28, 1999

All Board Members present.

Approve Minutes of January 19, 1999 meeting - Motion by Mr. Arthur Douglas, seconded by Ms. Elaine Truett, to approve the minutes of the January 19, 199 meeting as presented. The motion carried unanimously.

Discussion Item - Samples for E.S. - Mr. Charlie Voelter, architect with The Voelter Group, brought a board with limited color samples for the exterior and interior of the elementary school. There was not a variety of color samples for the roof to view. A discussion ensued. The Board agreed to have a Special Called Meeting Wednesday, February 3 at 6:00 pm in the Marlin High School Cafeteria and asked Mr. Voelter to bring a variety of color samples for the exterior, interior and roof to view so a color can be selected for the elementary school facility at that time.

Baird Williams with Baird/Williams Construction, Ltd., gave an update to the Board on the construction of the elementary school facility.

Superintendent Thornell informed the Board that he is working with Larry Wornat to oversee in Marlin ISD's protection and interest at the building site.

Approve Color Samples for E.S. - Motion by Mr. Arthur Douglas, seconded by Ms. Rose Sedillo, to table action item 7B (Consider selecting color samples for elementary school facility) until more options are presented. The motion carried unanimously.
