Regular Scheduled Meeting - April 20, 1999

Agenda Items and actions taken:

Consent Agenda - Motion by Mr. Arthur Douglas, seconded by Ms. Rose Sedillo, to approve the consent agenda as presented. Voting for: Mr. Arthur Douglas, Ms. Rose Sedillo, Ms. Elaine Truett, Mr. Keith Alston and Ms . Lowanda Washington. Mr. Carman Dingrando abstained from voting. The motion carried. Consent agenda items: agenda, minutes of march 23, March 30 and April 13, 1999 meetings, bills from City Auto Parts and other bills.

Budget Amendments - Motion by Mr. Arthur Douglas, seconded by Mr. Carman Dingrando, to approve the budget amendments as presented. The motion carried unanimously.

Renew School Leaders Errors & Omissions Policy - Motion by Ms. Elaine Truett, seconded by Ms. Rose Sedillo, to accept the proposal of $5,961 annual premium from Coregis Insurance Company for the School Leaders Errors & Omissions Policy. The motion carried unanimously.

Update 60 - Motion by Mr. Arthur Douglas, seconded by Mr. Carman Dingrando, that the Board adopt (LEGAL) and (LOCAL) policies as recommended by TASB Policy Service. The motion carried unanimously.

Results of Closed Session:

Contract Extension of Personnel for 1999-2000 - Motion by Mr. Arthur Douglas, seconded by Ms. Rose Sedillo, to extend a one year contract to Steve Holland for the 1999-2000 school year. The motion carried unanimously.

Personnel Resignations - Motion by Ms. Lowanda Washington, seconded by Mr. Arthur Douglas, to accept resignations fro Jo Harrison and Helen Sehon. The motion carried unanimously.

Board Comments:

Lowanda Washington - Glad to see Marlin being host for the Falls Relay and District Track Meet this year. Also would like to see the Pepperettes again at the football games.

Rose Sedillo - Would like to see the Pepperettes again. Thanked Ms. Mary Smith for speaking on their behalf. Thanked Elaine Truett and Billie Jones for serving on the Board. Enjoyed serving with them.

Keith Alston - Echoed Lowanda Washington and Rose Sedillo's comments.

Elaine Truett - Enjoyed being on the Board. Good Luck!

Carman Dingrando - Supported the Drill Team but not the name.

Arthur Douglas - Thanked Elaine Truett and Billie Jones for serving on the board. Takes special people to deliberate district issues.
