Special Called Board Meeting - March 1, 2001

Absent - Mr. Keith Alston

Agenda Items:

Proposal for Property, Equipment, Vehicle & General Liability Ins. - Ken Tomlinson with Brazos Insurance Services briefed the Board on his proposal. After a discussion and questions were asked, a motion by Mrs. Rose Morin, seconded by Mr. Danny Vickers, to accept the insurance proposal of $128,917.00 as presented. The motion carried unanimously. The following is a breakdown of the insurance, premium and company:

Proposal For Septic System - Motion by Mrs. Byrleen Terry, seconded by Mr. Carman Dingrando, to accept low bid of $28,585.00 from Fischer & Co. for the septic system at the football field (restrooms, concession stands & field house). The motion carried unanimously.

Proposal for old MS Band Hall - Motion by Mr. Danny Vickers, seconded by Ms. Lowanda Washington, to accept the proposal from James E. Mitchell for the old band hall. Proposal is as follows: lease the building for one year at $100.00 a month; Mr. Mitchell will provide maintenance of the grounds within the block on which the building is located; repair all broken doors and windows at Mr. Mitchell's own expense; Mr. Mitchell will pay all utilities; and other agreements that MISD and Mr. Mitchell can agree upon. The motion carried unanimously.

Bid for desks & file cabinets - Motion by Mr. Danny Vickers, seconded by Mrs. Rose Morin, to accept bid of $15.00 from the 20th 82nd Judicial Probation Department for 2 desks, three (4) drawer file cabinets and one (2) drawer file cabinet. The motion carried unanimously.

Bid for items at old MS - Motion by Mr. Carman Dingrando, seconded by Mrs. Byrleen Terry, to sell the following items to the Marlin Little League for $1.00 --- one ice machine, 2 paper towel and soap dispensers, 4 heat lamps, 1 candy display shelf, 1 bike rack and a PA system. The motion carried unanimously.

Meeting was adjourned at 7:27 p.m.
