Special Called Meeting May 29, 2001
The meeting was called to order by President, Arthur Douglas, at 7:06 p.m.
Opening prayer was given by trustee, Mrs.Rose Morin, who also led the audience in the Pledge of Allegiance.
Roll Call: Mr. Arthur Douglas, Mrs. Rose Morin, Mr. Carman Dingrando, Mr. Roger Nutt and Mr. Danny Vickers. Absent: Ms. Lowanda Washington. Mrs. Byrleen Terry arrived at 7:11 p.m.
Agenda Items:
Request for Early Graduation - Motion by Mr. Carman Dingrando, seconded by Mr. Roger Nutt, to approve request and give permission for Cheyenne Mitchell to graduate early. The motion carried unanimously.
Lease/Agreement for Old MS Gym and Cafeteria - Motion by Mr. Roger Nutt, seconded by Mrs. Rose Morin, to accept and approve the lease/agreement, as recommended by the attorney, between Marlin ISD and Jimmy Ray Sorrells with amendment as noted. The motion carried unanimously.
Results of Closed Session:
Renewal of Contract Personnel Who Passed the ExCET - Motion by Mr. Roger Nutt, seconded by Mr. Danny Vickers, to approve the renewal of contracts for the 2001-2002 school year to the following personnel who passed the ExCET: Alice Christy, Dustin Evans, Mike Evans, Janice Muse, Joe Muse and Denise Rounsaville. The motion carried unanimously.
Personnel Employment - Motion by Mrs. Byrleen Terry, seconded by Mrs. Rose Morin, to employ the following for the 2001-2002 school year: John Halstead-sixth grade teacher; Kerry Halstead-second grade teacher; Claire Keener-Kindergarten; Shelly Wachsmann-Speech Therapist; Rashaundra Sterling-High School English; and Paul Lewis Health/Offensive Coordinator. The motion passed unanimously.
Personnel Resignations - Motion by Mr. Danny Vickers, seconded by Mr. Roger Nutt, to accept the resignations from: Thomas Diserens, Jeffery Jefferson, Bill Moore, Bobby Redd, Amy Faulkner, Stephanie Alfano, Bill Almond, Janelle Drennon, Kay Carter and Shonja Evans. The motion carried unanimously.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:38 p.m.
