Bulldogs Start District Play With Win

The Cameron Yoemen came to Marlin on January 15 as both teams got underway in district play.

After a very low scoring first period (9-7 Cameron) both teams got their offenses in gear the rest of the way. Marlin scored 20 in the second period to the Yoeman's 12 to take a six point lead to the locker room.

The third period saw the bulldogs extend their lead to 11 and in the final period of play the offense put up 20 points on way to a 64-48 victory.

Scoring highlights:

Bernard Washington - 14 pts; 5 steals

Ashley Anderson - 12 pts; 6 assists

Charles Johnson - 11 pts; 18 rebounds; 8 assists

Desmond Woodson - 9 pts; 12 rebounds; 3 blocked shots

Desmond Watson - 7 pts; 9 rebounds; 4 assists; 3 steals; 3 blocked shots

Dontel Carroll - 4 pts; 13 rebounds; 7 steals; 5 assists

Next up for the bulldogs will be an away game at McGregor.
