The Marlin Bulldogs moved one step close to 10-0 in district by beating the Robinson Rockets 76-58 on February 12th.
The dogs were clinging to a one point lead at half (31-30) and were even tied at 49 at the end of three. But a 27-9 burst in the final period proved to be the difference.
Four players scored in double digits with senior Bernard Washington leading the way with 19 points. Ashley Anderson had 18 points and a season high 23 assists. Desmond Watson and Desmond Woodson both had double doubles with Watson at 13 points and 15 rebounds and Woodson with 12 points and 17 rebounds.
Rounding out the scoring for the bulldogs were Dontel Carroll (8 points and a game high 18 rebounds); Jeremy Modkins (4 points); and DeMarcus Smith (2 points).
Only the Gatesville Hornets stand in the way of a perfect district season. The team will travel to the "Hornets Nest" February 16.
