It Was a Long Cold Dreary
Night
As The Dogs
ROLLOVER
The Yoe
70-7
There was probably more yellow on the ground in this game than there has been in all the other games combined and in a game that everyone thought would never end it was the Dogs manhandling and taking apart the Yoe of Cameron in everyway possible on their way to a 70-7 victory and another undefeated district season and title.
It was Parent Night at Legion Field and the Parents got to see an offense that was clicking on all cylinders. Junior running back Tank Smith had nearly 200 rushing yards in the first half!
The scoring onslaught got started early in the first quarter. At the 10:31 mark, it was the TANK from 26-yards out for touchdown numero uno! Chris Stewart added the point after and the slaughter at Legion Field was on.
TD#2 came with 1:56 to play in the first quarter as QB Jeremy Sanders took it in. The point after was not a thing of beauty as Mark Jimenez took a high snap and found a way to the end zone to make it 15-0.
Moving to the second quarter with 10:54 to play, Tank scored his second touchdown and with Stewart's extra point it was 22 to zip.
TD#4 was scored by the defense. Lamondria Williams, who is having a great season from the defensive side and you don't want to be hit by this guy I might add, picks up a loose ball and returns it 14 yards for a touchdown. Extra point was no good and with 10:18 to play before halftime the score was 28-0. Just total domination by the Bulldogs on both sides of the ball.
TD#5 - Senior D'nerian Wrighter scores from 10 yards out. Stewart adds the point after to make it 35-0 with 6:08 left in the half.
TD#6 came with 3:11 to play. This score was a beauty. Senior Red Richardson took a handoff and put on his moves and speed and 40 yards later -TOUCHDOWN! Stewart adds the point after and the crowd heads for the coffee and hot chocolate. Score at the half folks was 42-0!
Things got a little sluggish in the third and it took a little while before the Dogs added TD #7. With 2:58 left in the quarter it was Wrighter for his second score of the night from three yards out and with Stewart's point after the Dogs continued to put it on the Yoe up 49-0.
The Dogs scored three more times in the fourth. TD#8 came with 8:45 to play. With Tank having two touchdowns and D having two touchdowns it was Red's turn for his second touchdown. Another thing of beauty and Red dips and dazzles and scores from 25 yards out. Stewart, whose leg had to be getting a little tired, boots another point after to make it 56-0.
Then somewhat of a heart breaker for the Bulldog defense. With 6:26 to play the Yoe scored on a 64-yard pass that stopped the Bulldog streak of shutouts.
But the Dogs weren't done with their scoring. TD #9 came as #9; QB JerMarcus Hartsfield scored on a beautiful run from 45 yards out as he left Yoe would be tacklers all over the field. Point after by - you guessed it - Stewart was good to make it 63-7.
And finally TD#10 - This one was also set up be the defense. Recovering a fumble deep in Yoe territory the final score came from Lamondira Williams. Williams who earlier scored from the defensive side of the ball this time took it from his tailback position from six yards out to make it 70-7. And this ball game was FINALLY OVER!
One needed a calculator for the Bulldog rushing offense on this night. Folks the Dogs rushed for nearly 500 yards. Leading the way was Tank who had 196 yards on 20 carries and Red who added 105 yards on six carries. The Dog Defense held the Yoe to 28 yards rushing on the night.
So now it's time for Season #3 - The PLAYOFFS! This is familiar territory for the Bulldogs having been here now six straight years. It all gets started this Saturday night at Waco ISD as the Dogs will take on the La Vega Pirates in the Bi District match up. Should be a good one.
See you at the game
