Behind the running of Antonio "TOOKIE" Davis and another strong effort by the defensive unit, the 'Dawgs moved their season record to 2-1.
With only seconds left in the first quarter, Davis took it in from the Fairdield three and with Nathan polster's extra point the score was 7-0.
The 'Dawgs made it 13-0 at the 7:39 mark of the second quarter as QB Shawn Henry took it in from the one. Fairfield's lone score came after a Bulldog turnover, making the score 13-7 at the half.
The final score of the game came at the 6:07 mark of the third quarter, with Henry's second TD of the night. Marlin converted a two-point conversion as Henry hit Jante Cheeves in the back of the endzone to make the final 21-7!
For the night Davis was the offensive star, rushing for 119 yards on 25 carries. Reggie Smith had his best game rushing so far this year with 61 yards on 12 carries. The defensive unit was led by the play of Cassius "BOOTSY" Johnson who moved his team leading tackle total to 40 on the year. As a whole, the defensive unit held Fairfield to under 150 toatl yards.
Marlin will be home for the first time this year come Friday night (September 26) as they open district play against the Trojans of Troy.
