The arm of QB Shaun Henry was the BIG difference in the "Dawgs" district opener at Legion Field on September 26. Shaun completed nine of 15 passes for 174 yards and FIVE TOUCHDOWNS!

The first strike came on a thirty-yard pass to Jante Cheeves at the 1:47 mark of the first quarter. Nathan Polster added the point after and the score was 7-0.

After Cassius "Bootsy" Johnson recovered a fumble at the Troy 30, Henry then hit Gabe Garrett on a 30 yard pass for TD number two. Polster added the point after to make the score 14-0 Bulldogs.

At the 9:11 mark in the second quarter, Henry found Bertran Tiller in the endzone on a 19-yard pass and with Polster adding the extra point Marlin was up 21-0 at the half.

Henry wasn't through yet. At the 9:47 mark of the third quarter he found freshman, Desmond Watson in the corner of the endzone with TD number four covering 27 yards. Polster made the point after and the Bulldogs had a commanding 28-0 lead.

Troy managed to get on the board at the 10:07 mark of the final quarter to make the score 28-7. But back came the Bulldogs and Mr. Henry! TD # 5 came on a 20 yard strike to Cheeves (His second score of the night) and with Polster adding the point after the final score of the game was 35-7!

The BIG D turned in a terrific game as they limited Troy to a total of 154 yards on offense. The defense was led by the play of Cassius Johnson, Tim Scott, Leonard Mitchell and Willie Henry.

Marlin has a BIG game this Friday night as they travel to Gatesville to take on MOTEN and Company. Gatesville beat La Vega in overtime this past Friday night so look for a real "DOG" fight in this game!
