Dogs Get Back On Winning Track vs. Mexia

The Marlin Soccer team took their game to Mexia on January 28 and came back home with a 5-2 victory to put them at 2-2 on the year in district play. In the firsst half the Dogs took the lead on a goal by Ronquillo with an assist from Luis Vasquez. About seven minutes later Vasquez scored unassisted to make it 2-0 Bulldogs. Mexia came back and scored off of a Bulldog mishap to make it a one goal game.

Back came the Dogs as Hugo Gonzales scored to make it 3-1. But Mexia would answer one more time before halftime to make 3-2 Bulldogs.

The Dogs came out fighting hard in the second half. Ronquillo scored his second goal of the night with another assist by Vasquez and Eduardo Becerra scored unassisted while the Dog defense shut out the Black Cats in the second half and went on to win 5-2.

Next up - The Rockets from Robinson come to Legion Field on Tuesday, February 4. Game time 6 PM
