Bulldogs Score Impressive Win Over The Roo!

The Bulldog soccer team picked up their third win in a row on January 14 at home vs. 5A Killeen as Marco Hernandez scored off an assist from Daniel Ronquillo late in the second half for a 4-3 victory!

On a very cold night at Legion Field, the Dogs scored first on a break away by the teams leading scorer, Daniel Ronquillo to make the score 1-0. Killeen would answer with a score of their own and back came the dogs. This time it was Hugo Gonzales scoring with an assist from Hernandez to give the Dogs a 2-1 lead. Once more Killeen answered to tie it at the half.

Killeen took the lead to start the second half, scoring off a deflection from a dog defender to put them up 3-2. Now it was time for the Dogs to answer. Gonzales scored his second goal of the night off a cross from Michael Galvez to tie the game.

And then the goal by Hernandez in the final minutes to give the Dogs the win!

Coach Goodfellow will take her team to Waco the weekend of January 17-18 for Tournament play and then return home to start district play against Lorena on Tuesday, Januray 21st.

So far on the year its senior Daniel Ronquillo leading the team in scoring with eight goals followed by Marco Hernandez with five and Hugo Gonzales with four.

Leading in assists is Marco Hernandez with three and right behind him with two each are Luis Vasquez, Hugo Gonzales and Daniel Ronquillo.
