Bulldogs Win Close One In Shootout!

The Bulldog Soccer team won in overtime against the Leopards of Lorena 5-4 on Valentine's Day to set up a BIG game against Corsican at Legion Field on February 18. The Corsicana game winner should tie up the last remaining slot for post-season play.

But let's look back at the Lorena game....

The Leopards came out clawing and fighting to start the game, scoring two goals in the first half. Bulldog Daniel Ronquillo scored unassisted to make it 1-2 at the half.

Having plenty of opportunities to score in the second half, the Bulldogs missed two penalty kicks that would have tied the game. Then with only three minutes to play, Marco Hernandez beat the Leopard defense and scored to tie the game at 2-2, sending the game inot overtime!

Overtime in soccer goes to a shootout. In the shootout, Ronquillo, Hugo Gonzales, Antonio Reyes and Jesus Calderon scored on penalty kicks. Reyes also blocked three Leopard kicks and the Bulldogs went onto victory!
