The Marlin Lady Bulldogs traveled to Jacksonville Saturday to for the
Jacksonville-Brownsboro Invitational Softball Tournament. In the second
round of the brackets Marlin lost a close one to Fairfield. The Lady
Dogs captured 3rd place by defeating John Tyler 11-6. Please
congradulate the softball girls for all their hard work. The Lady Bulldogs hosted the LaVega Lady Pirates in their home opener
yesterday. LaVega jumped out to an early 5-1 lead after the first
innning. After the first inning the the Lady Dogs settled down and
started slowly fighting their way back into the game. The bottom of the
7th inning the Bulldogs found themselves down 8-7. With one out and
runners at 1st and 2nd, Alexis hit a fly ball allowing Jessica to tag up
at second and then scoring to tie the game. Marlin had two outs and a
runner on 3rd when Raven came up to bat. On a pass ball, good awareness
by Annie allowed her to score the winning run. The Lady Bulldogs won their home opener 9-8. Special thanks to all the teachers and staff that came out to support
the Lady Dogs!!!
